12 Tips for Surviving and Even Thriving This Holiday Season! (Part 1)

(Please Note - This is the first of a two-part series). Surely you’ve experienced holiday stress. You know what it looks like! Think back to last year. What did you and your family enjoy the most? The least? Do you remember how you felt on the day after Thanksgiving? How about on December 26th or January 2nd? Now think about how you would like to feel after the holidays this year. What would that look like?

Maybe you wanted to serve the perfect meal, but you didn’t have time to make that special sauce of yours. Perhaps you wanted to create an awe inspiring holiday table spread with a unique homemade centerpiece but your creativity was zapped. You wanted everything to be perfect. It was not. Are you blaming yourself now? Don’t spend one more minute in that state! Take a deep breath and exhale with a big sound of relief.

The rush of holiday travel, entertaining, shopping, buying, baking… it all creates havoc. When thoughts of gifts, cookies, greeting cards, place settings and time running out floods your mind it will steal away your enjoyment and cause you to question how you will survive yet another holiday season. Is that how you really want to spend your holiday?

If you want freedom this holiday season, try these helpful tips:

1. Remove the “shoulds” of the season: It’s easy to fall into the trap of over scheduling at this time of year. Holidays are often filled with the “shoulds” of society. Remember, just because TV commercials, radio ads or even past traditions say something should be done a certain way doesn’t mean it’s best for everyone. Be selective or the ‘suppose to do’s’ will control your holiday season.

2. Have realistic expectations and prioritize: Remember to focus on what’s really important and be realistic with what you can do with your time, energy and other resources. Quality time with family is never based on the type of tree, table settings or the other decorations. To help you prioritize ask yourself, “If I had half as much time, how would I choose to use that time?”

3. Identify what stresses you out: Take a minute and list what you find most stressful about the holidays. Include everyday stress as well. Look over the list and eliminate what you can. Do the bills need to be paid? Would you feel better if the holiday meal was planned? As you face the causes of stress on your list, the stress will melt away.

4. No Regrets: Allow the holidays to be the positive, healthy celebration they are meant to be. Avoid choices that will result in debt, diets or embarrassments. Spending beyond your means or eating past healthy boundaries may be aimed at filling an unmet need. If the holidays are a difficult time of year and you are unsure why but find yourself making choices you wish you could take back, seek guidance. Avoid falling into regrets through an unrealized attempt to compensate.

5. Take care of yourself: Healthy habits such as eating well or exercising are often abandoned when we become overwhelmed from the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Such choices leave us tired, drained and worn out. It is especially true during the holidays that you can’t give what you don’t have. This year make healthy, energy-generating habits a priority. Exercise to eliminate stress and increase stamina, limit your sugar intake and eat healthy whole foods.

6. Sleep tight: Most of us are already suffering from sleep deprivation and the holidays often take more out of us than we appreciate. After a full day of holiday activities the body and mind require sleep to recover and rejuvenate. The more the body is denied this opportunity to fully recover, the more the immune system becomes suppressed and the likelihood of illness increases. It isn’t worth getting sick. Be sure to catch enough zzz’s and get some sleep!

You should know that, because of the dramatic benefits my clients attained in 2009, Spirit has told me to raise my

joy! You can lock in the existing price by purchasing as many packages as you want this year and you have
one full year to use them. My existing rate (for 'non-ongoing' clients) is $497 for 3 sessions. My "One-hour holiday

How to Gain Surprising Insights to Increase Your Lifestyle, Income and Success – Instantly!

Have you heard the expression, “The outer world is a reflection of your inner world”? People usually say it just the opposite: make the change from the inside and you’ll see transformations in your outer world. And it is true! Yet, let us look at it from a different perspective. With the objective of gaining precious insights, rather than jumping into action.

Every one of our life situations is an indication of our inner state of BEing. One surprisingly easy way to gain insights, is to look at what is happening in our life, especially in our physical space. It gives us invaluable information on what is happening inside of us.

Let’s do a little exercise shall we? We’ll see what needs to be tweaked in our inner selves in order to achieve easier, faster results in our businesses and personal lives.

OK, look at your current environment, just as it is right now. Try to see your entire surroundings as a mirror image of your inner state of BEing. Witness the state of mind, the emotional conditions, and the physical stage that you are right in now. Examine closely your environment, first your home, then your office.

Some people use intuition cards, or read the tarot. You can do the same with your surroundings. For example, I look at the area around my printer, and I see a stack of printed paper on the side, that is waiting to be removed and recycled. It is stagnant energy. Nothing is moving there.

Another example is the small table in my office where I stacked books of inspiration for my new book around efficient spiritual tools to grow your business. They are organized in piles by subject, yet they collect dust and when I look at them sitting on the table those nasty little self-judgmental inner remarks come up around my project.

As you can see, I had a lot of fun doing this exercise, searching for snapshots of “my outer reality” like message cards revealing hidden secrets from my soul! The printer area seemed to be saying “Clear the immobility and follow through!” I realized that I had let things accumulate in piles, without acting on them when I needed to.

After a while, the accumulation created a deep sense of overwhelm. This stress could be avoided. I had gotten the message and to me it was the most invaluable insight; the exact thing I needed to know to unblock my situation and clear the sense of overwhelm.

The snapshot (or intuition card) of my second situation told me “Writing your book is stuck because you’re judging yourself. You’re looking to gather proof of your inability to write as well as your peers. How much dust do you need to accumulate, how much resentment do you need to feel before you love yourself and go back to writing again?”

Wow, where did that come from? Must be time to love myself more! These writers are great, and I AM as great as they are. I have a real message to bring out to the world, and I’m sure it will help a lot of people to find solutions and grow their income and business in alignment!

You don’t have to get a whole paragraph of insight. Sometimes a few words will come from looking at your surroundings:

  • Are things really clean and clear in your office space? This might mean that you are clear on what you want to achieve, and where you want your business to go.
  • Is your phone or internet connection having problems right now? This might mean you have to look at your communication in business; you may have to “tweak’ something there.
  • Are your closets or desk messy? I know my desk frequently is. (I say that I’m the messiest Virgo on Earth!) This could mean that while we’re clear on what we want, we’re still working on the process of things and how they could be integrated! It is often true for me. Is it for you?
  • Do you have a wobbly bookshelf, or a rickety table or desk? Look at the structure of your business and what needs to be done to reinforce it to a more sound and stable position.

Notice how you’re more confused when your surroundings are cluttered? If we have a tendency to scatter things on shelves and tables - all over our space - could it be that we ourselves are scattered? Do we need to ground ourselves more?

We can gain tremendous insight just from looking at our place. Yet in order to receive a clear message, we need to be in a neutral mindset and avoid judging ourselves. So, for the insight to come, you simply need to relax about the outcome. Just go with what comes to mind when you look at your surroundings. Don’t overanalyze the situation, keep it simple.

What is your home or office telling yourself about your business, your structure, your process, and your feelings? Can you get a message from your space, looking at it like in a mirror?

Enjoy this exercise and please share your comments and findings!

The third eclipse is almost here!

Here is an email from my friend and wonderful client, renowned Astrologer and Author, Michelle Karen. (You can hear Michelle speak about the Maya calendar on Aug 11th, see my previous post below, or in the “Calendar/Events“!)

We are now arriving at the last portal of this huge process of change that started in May 2009, through the solstice on June 20, the first Lunar eclipse on July 7 and the second solar eclipse on July 21.

Tomorrow’s 3rd (and last) eclipse, on Wednesday August 5 at 5:55 PM PDT (+ 3 hrs for the East Coast….) will occur at 13º43’ Aquarius.

In the course of these past months, pretty much everything is likely to have changed in our lives. There could have a new relationship, a move, a different career… The previous two eclipses asked us to restructure our reality and figure out what made us feel safe. Now the focus is on connecting with our true soul family and becoming very clear on what role in society we are creating for ourselves.

We are resolutely moving into the new, keeping of the old only what still supports our growth. As we relate more intensely with like-spirited friends (our true soul  family), exciting, healing visions, ideas and projects are unraveling. As we share our spiritual and material resources, incredible new horizons are revealing themselves to us. We should be patient however, as what is in the process of being built could go through some delays and frustrations before the time is absolutely ripe for the new manifestations (within a month or two).

Our thoughts are deep and focused. We are able to X-ray situations we previously would have taken at face value. As our perceptions shift, we are now capable of separating reality from illusion. The awakening could be surprising indeed as we realize we were evolving in the shadow of what really was.

Our emotions are intense. We may now wish to only interact with people we feel connected to at a deep level. Superficial relationships just don’t cut it anymore. We need to feel a profound sense of intimacy with the people in our lives and may be tempted to severe ties which prove too superficial or are already outgrown.

To welcome this new eclipse which opens a whole new book in our lives, it may be a good idea to do a fire ceremony (with a candle or a pan with some epson salts and 90% rubbing alcohol) as close as  5:55 PM PDT (Los Angeles time) as you can (but within 24 hrs will still work). Use a stick (small branch or toothpick) to let go with gratitude all that remains to be released of our past, and with another stick bring in  the unconditional love, unlimited wealth and huge happiness that is our divine right.

Enjoy this very special cosmic event!

In Loving Light.
